"Proposition 36: The Clean Water Act"

| We need to
stop WASTING
millions of dollars on
commercials for State Propositions.
These ads are at best misleading and
confusing. At worst, they are downright
lies. I read the descriptions of these
propositions and then I see the
commercials and I wonder: Is this even
related to the actual proposition?
Below, I present my case using the
"Clean Water Act" here in California.
Seems like an easy choice: Clean Water
is a good thing, right??? Oh, think
again. Not in the hands of
politicians... |

The writers of these ads make HUGE jumps
of logic and then rely on fear to sway voters.
As a logical person this both frustrates and
infuriates me. How am I supposed to make a wise
decision when the data is so skewed? The answer
is - I can't. And why should I? We vote for
Representatives who are supposed to study this
stuff and then make an intelligent decision. THAT is their job.
THAT is why we pay
them to serve. So, why am I doing their job for
them?! I'd like everyone to vote YES on "NO more
Propositions". Make the legislators ACTUALLY do
their jobs! The BEST part: If we actually
STOPPED the voting and campaigning on
Propositions, we could take that money and
ACTUALLY clean up some water! Now that is a
Clean Water Act! |
