T
HE SHOW FOR ENGINEERS AND
THE PEOPLE WHO LOVE THEM

Don McMillan has a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. He worked for over 10 years in Silicon Valley as a chip designer and manager. Don left that world to become a stand-up comedian after winning $100,000 as the Star Search Comedy Grand Champion in 1993. But in his heart he is still - and always will be - an Engineer.

That is why Don jumped at the chance to write and perform a show celebrating Engineers and Engineering. In 2000, the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology approached Don to perform as part of Engineers Week - the annual celebration held worldwide every February. The show was a smashing success. Below are a couple of examples of the material he developed for his fellow Engineers:

Comedian/Engineer   What is Pi?

Since that show at Rose-Hulman, Don has celebrated all things Engineering at several other schools including:  Lehigh University, Carnegie Mellon University, Drexel University, Georgia Tech, USC, University of Toledo, Notre Dame, University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Iowa State, Fresno State, University of Arkansas, and Loyola-Marymount, Don's act is nerdy, but not too nerdy. He likes to describe it as "The show for Engineers and the people who love them." Here are a couple more examples of what you'll see...

Math Team Cheer   Phun with Physics

Don has also performed his one of a kind engineering comedy show (Powered by PowerPoint) for Corporate Engineering events like: Western Digital's Engineering Day, Oracle Developers Users Group, AutoDesk University, InfoSec World, BAE Systems Patent Awards, GE Medical Systems Patent Awards, Research in Motion Patent Awards, The Design Automation Conference, MicroChip Masters Conference, Cisco Powered Network Operations Symposium and many others. Here's a peak at some of the "expert" graphical analysis Don uses in his show...

Marriage & Engineers   Couch Shopping

And the best thing about Don is that NO two shows are exactly alike. He works closely with every group to "customize" your show. If you have Chemical Engineers - Don will break out the Physical Chemistry jokes. If you have a big IT crowd - Don will go LINUX with Open Source versions of all his material. If you're into Micro Electronics - Don will shrink his punch lines below 100 nm. You will see the most unique comedy show designed just for you.

As a reminder, Engineering Week 2012 is February 19-25. If you are interested in having Don perform at your celebration - or if you just want to have Don at your next event, please contact:
